They gave the green light and there will be Nazaré Challenge

“We may see a lot of potential for pipes,” says specialist Garrett McNamara.

The Nazaré Tow Challenge will take place this Sunday, December 12, in Praia do Norte, the WSL indicated in a recent press release in which they indicate that there is a “green light” for the tournament.

A swell of between 30 and 60 feet is on the way and according to WSL consultant and Nazaré discoverer Garrett McNamara, conditions are going to be good, with a rare east-northeast wind that means it will blow directly offshore, making it “possible that we will see great barreling potential.”

The warning had previously been given for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. But confidence quickly grew that Sunday could be the day.

Among the 18 competitors is the Basque Axi Muniain who will compete alongside the Italian Francisco Porcella. In one of his latest Instagram stories, the experienced surfer showed that he was travelling, doing some hiking.
