They gave the green light for Eddie

The Eddie Aikau Memorial Big Wave event has been confirmed for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 11, at Waimea Bay, according to the tournament's official website.

This will be the tenth time Eddie has been held in its 37-year history. The event is held every time a sea comes in that “Eddie would go to”; that is, a historic swell, like the one forecast by the models for this Wednesday.

Chilean Ramón Navarro followed the swell closely and when it was confirmed he boarded a plane to California from where he was to fly to Hawaii. According to his Instagram stories, his flight was cancelled and he was kept on hold for three hours. He tried in every possible way to get to the United States but was unable to.

According to him, the only hope he has is that the swell is not confirmed, the waiting period remains open and it is carried out on another occasion.

Among the list of substitutes is Guatemalan Poly Kai Ralda who, depending on how the guests are confirmed, could be part of the historic tournament.
