The green light was given for the Jaws Challenge

Strong storm surge is expected to reach Hawaii with 30 to 45 feet on Monday or Tuesday.

The Jaws Challenge, formerly the Peahi Challenge, is on yellow alert for a possible event on Monday, November 26 or Tuesday, November 27, the WSL reported on its website and on social media.

According to tour commissioner Mike Parsons, a strong swell is heading toward Maui, with 30 to 45 feet expected. If the light is given to go, the warning will be issued tomorrow, Saturday.

"We're coming off a big event in Nazaré and there's a promising swell heading to Maui so we're hoping to give the green alert tomorrow," said Parsons, who is in charge of making the decision.

One of the competitors is the Basque Natxo González, who currently occupies third position in the ranking, after having an impeccable performance in the historic Portuguese stage.
