They gave the green light for the Quemao Class
Everything indicates that the championship will be held over two days between February 22nd and 24th.
The organizers of the Canary Islands Pipe Masters, the Quemao Class, have given the green light for the possible holding of the event between February 22nd and 24th, the organizers announced in a press release.
Of those four days, they clarified, the two with the best conditions will be used.
“The 64 invited athletes, 32 surfers and 32 bodyboarders, are ready to head to La Santa. This year’s lineup will bring together prominent names from the world stage and a strong local contingent, who will once again compete on one of the most demanding waves in Europe,” the statement reads.
They add: “Prior to the competition, the LANZAROTE QUEMAO CLASS will pay tribute to David Infante “El Fula”, in whose memory this event is held. Thus, the town of La Santa, the surfing community and the competitors themselves will pay homage to the surfer's memory.”
In the following days, a green alert may be issued confirming that the event will take place.
