They launched the Pico Alto Pro big wave championship, a big wave event part of the Big Wave Alliance that brings together several tournaments such as La Vaca Gigante and Santos del Mar.

The event marks a waiting period between March 15 and July of this year.

“Peru’s most challenging wave is ready to welcome the world’s best big wave surfers. Pico Alto Pro is the gateway to the Big Wave Alliance semifinals, the circuit that defines the true titans of the ocean,” reads the caption on the Instagram post.

He added: “We are calling on the most daring surfers, Peruvian and international, men and women, ready to face the raw power of the Pacific. Are you ready for the challenge?”
