When Fernando Aguerre was first elected president of the International Surfing Association in 1994, with the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games just around the corner, everything made sense to him: Surfing had to be there.

But that was not the case for the rest of the world surfing community, nor for Aguerre's own inner circle.

People called him crazy and even though he spent years pursuing his goal, holding meetings in Switzerland and in different countries where the Olympic world met, the goal became increasingly distant.

Basically, it was like this: In order for a new sport to be included, an old one had to be removed, and the voting for that to happen was done by the sports that already existed. It was like voting for your brother to stop being part of your family.

Aguerre persevered, but the world changed too. It became clear that the Olympic movement had become boring, with only two or three sports that were attractive to the world's youth.

And the Olympic card changed, Tokyo liked surfing and the Olympic world liked surfing and there was Fernando with all the ground he had covered; after knocking on the door for two decades, it opened wide.

This documentary tells the whole story of this Argentinean man who dreamed of making surfing an Olympic sport and made it happen.
