This is how Costa Rica travels to the 2019 ISA World Cup

Powerful Costa Rican team will be in Miyazaki in September

The Costa Rican surfing team for the historic World Surfing Games to be held in Miyazaki, Japan, from September 7 to 15 will be made up of Noe Mar McGonagle, Carlos Muñoz, Jair Pérez, Eva Woodland, Leilani McGonagle and Brissa Hennessy, the Costa Rican federation recently announced.

In Costa Rica, the team was chosen by former professional tour coach Jim Hogan and they traveled, according to the statement, with hopes of returning to the top 10.

The Ticos finished 12th in last year's ISA World Championship, which also took place in Japan.

For American athletes, the tournament will not act as a qualifier for Tokyo 2020, but it will affect the pre-qualification for next year's WSG, which will be the last test that will give them tickets to surfing's grand debut at the Olympics.
