The Uruguayan Surfing Union announced a team for the Pan American Games in Panama that combines youth and maturity and has a number of very good individual results under its belt.

At the event, which will take place between August 7 and 13, the Charrúas will compete with former Latin champions such as Lucas Madrid, experienced ISA competitors such as Sebastián Olarte and Francisco Morosini, and a recent QS and ALAS competitor who has achieved good results such as Martín Ottado.

Among the ladies are the top 15 in the world at the 2021 World Championships, Delfina Morosini, and the top 10 at the 2000 World Championships, Celia Barboza, who later was top 5 at the World Masters Championships.

Of the team, those who have perhaps shone the most in recent years have been the longboarders, Julián Schweizer and Nacho Pignataro, one a medalist in Lima 2019, the other a finalist in the Mexilog Fest and both top 15 in the 2019 longboard world championship in France.
