This is how Chile is lined up for the Playa Venao Pan American Games

A mix of young talent and experience make a strong Chilean team

The Chilean surfing federation has presented a strong team for the Pan American surfing championship that will take place between August 7 and 13 in Playa Venao, Panama, its shortboard coach, Gerald Álvarez, informed DUKE.

The team combines experience and youth and includes Pan American medalists such as Manuel Selman and Maximiliano Cross, the young talent of Estela López and the more experienced Lorena Fica.

The Chileans are not traveling with a complete team of 20 athletes, they will take 13, with all their male and female shortboard members.

Chile was ranked tenth in the last Pan American Games held in 2018 in Punta Rocas, Peru.

For Lima 2019, Chileans managed to qualify five athletes: Guillermo Satt, Jessica Anderson, Rafael Cortez, Constanza Fernandez and Carla Pérez.
