The online surfing world tour, the Surf Web Series, will return to Mexico this week with its sixth stage, the Pacific E Pro, which will take place between November 19 and 29 and will once again crown a Mexican champion with the unique feature that in addition to the men's Open, there will be a women's shortboard stage and the first big wave stop.

After starting its journey in Mexico, continuing on to South Africa, Chile, Japan and Brazil, before travelling to Australia, Peru and Spain, the tour returns to the country where it was born, where the first stage was held, which Jafet Ramos won on tubes.

The event already has the confirmation of former ISA world champion, Jhony Corzo, Puerto Escondido locals Marcial Monreal, Sasha Donnanno, Maya Larripa and Asaya Brusa, in addition to the standouts Ana Laura González, Rey Hernández, Sebastian Williams and Alan Cleland, among other surfers.

“These types of events keep the sport of surfing growing and our lifestyle close to the sea, allowing us to stay in touch with surfers from all over the country. I felt like I was competing in a real event, with a high level of athletes. I was surprised by the promotion they gave it and the growth of my social networks with fans connected from all over the world that now allowed me to have more support in my career,” said the champion of stage 1, Jafet Ramos, according to a press release sent by Surf Open League.

For his part, the CEO of Surf Open League, Gustavo Duccini, reported that a triple crown of big waves is planned for this 2020-2021 season, with Mexico being the first stage this week.

The official also said that he is “happy with the results and the confirmation of the reason for the existence” of Surf Web Series. He also assured that next year he hopes to double the number of countries participating in the circuit.

The Mexican stage is expected to feature some 64 competitors, the statement said.
