The stages in the second half of the year will have a different format, with a round 1 of eight three-person series for men and four three-person series for women, the website reported. if15.com.br which is managed by Brazilian journalist Ader Oliveira.
The winner of the tournament's opening series then advances directly to the round of 2 for the men and the quarter-finals for the women. The second and third place teams face each other in round XNUMX. From then on, all series are man-on-man and woman-on-woman.
The change occurs because with the mid-year cut-off, there were now 22 male surfers (who are completed with two wildcards per event), totaling 24, and 10 female surfers (who are completed with two wildcards per event), totaling 12.
The events will go from having 47 series to 31 for men and from 23 there will now be 15 for women.

These will determine the top five men and women who will make it to the grand finals to be held at Lower Trestles from 8 to 16 September.
