$9500 Tickets to Kelly's Pool: Sold Out
And the $500 ones are gone too. Only the "cheaper" ones are left.
VIP and Super VIP tickets to watch Kelly Slater's first open pool tournament, the Founders' Cup, taking place this weekend are completely sold out, according to the Ticket sales section of the WSL website.
“Cheap” tickets, which cost between $80 and $150, are still on sale.
There was a lot of talk about how much it would cost to surf in Slater's pool., that ticket, the “Super VIP”, officially known as the Surf Ranch Experience, is special in that in addition to being able to watch the tournament from the best spot and eat and drink all you want, it has the extra of allowing you to surf for an hour in the pool the day after the tournament ends.
The VIP includes everything except the hour of surfing and costs 500, so you can say that an hour in Slater's pool costs 9000 dollars.
This was reported on DUKE and the overwhelming majority responded that it was crazy to spend that kind of money on surfing in the pool. Many people, who knows how many, did not see it that way.
