Tickets for the surfing event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will cost $27 per day, the Japanese newspaper Japan Times reported yesterday.

The event is scheduled to take place between July 26 and 29, although the initial waiting period will last until August 2, when the surfing festival will be held, during which, according to the ISA, the culture of sport will be shown to the world with clinics on environmentalism, yoga, surfing and other activities.

Then, in the event that there are no waves on those days, the so-called “contingency period” can be used, which consists of one more week.

In this regard, sources related to the organization told the aforementioned Japanese newspaper that the sale of tickets is already planned for the days from August 3 to 10 in case they are used to wait for waves.

For three years now, the wave forecasting company Surfline has been monitoring the behaviour of the sea on Games days and so far, there have always been waves.
