Toledo and Defay won at the Surf Ranch

The Brazilian and the French woman turned the bets around

Brazil's Filipe Toledo and France's Johanne Defay claimed the Surf Ranch Pro title today at the WSL pool in Lemoore, California.

Their win was not without drama: Medina had beaten Toledo twice there, and Defay was the underdog against four-time world champion Carissa Moore.

When the decision came, Medina needed to place more than a nine on his left and in his third or fourth move he fell, which caused Toledo and his squad to go crazy.

On Defay's side, after Carissa set up a nice combination of 8,33 and 6,83, and with Defay having an 8,7 on the left and needing to improve on his right, he did so with a 7,93, making it unnecessary for him to do anything on the left.
