Tom Curren says he's tired of searching, he says it's boring
His new video filmed in Mexico is here and it is more relevant than it seems about this stage of the life of one of the best in history.
Three-time world champion Tom Curren's new video, called Free Scrubber, showing him spending time in Punta Conejo, Mexico, is a breath of fresh air, but his statements also have significant journalistic value.
He says he got bored of searching, that he might take the The Search sticker off his board. That traveling got boring and he gestures, as if the same thing always happens, "tube," he says, gesturing as if to say he got bored.
Of course he still surfs as amazingly as ever, with an incredible wave reading and that style that caused eternal admiration from Kelly Slater.
The other interesting thing is his eccentricity, the boards he uses, the junk he collects and the comments he makes, such as the energy fins that have "better reception." Or that he takes a piano to the beach and with the waves pumping he dedicates himself to playing the piano.
Curren is 56 years old and is one of the best and most interesting surfers on the planet.
