Confirmed: Tudela and Giunta complete the Peruvian team for El Salvador 2021

These two join Messinas, Correa, Mulanovich and Rosas for the biggest ISA world championship in history

Punta Hermosa surfers Miguel Tudela and Melanie Giunta were confirmed as the two remaining members of the Peruvian surfing team that will participate in the ISA World Championship in El Salvador between May 29 and June 6, the local federation reported in a statement published on its Instagram.

Tudela had posted on his social networks that during the three days of pre-qualifying competitions he had obtained the highest scores, both in waves and in sums.

“Mission accomplished,” wrote Tudela. He added: “Three intense days of pre-qualification and I managed to win all three, a last heat in the final with Cristobal de Col was very close, we left everything on the court for that spot. (I am) more than happy with my performance and my consistency during these days, thanks to Fenta for this qualification, now let’s focus on the world championship that is just around the corner.”

Giunta, for his part, dedicated a long message to celebrate: “One step closer to the Olympic goal!” he exclaimed.  It was three days of pre-selection with full surfing and competition. I feel super happy and proud of my performance this week. Months of hard work is finally starting to bear fruit.”

Giunta thanked her coach, former Latin and Peruvian champion Sebastián Alarcón, and several people close to her. “We continue to enjoy the journey and work hard for what is to come,” concluded the Peruvian.
