Two Argentines in two bombs in Puerto Escondido
Fran Ferreras and Juanchi Arca took a couple of waves in the last swell in Zicatela
Juanchi in one of the biggest swells
Yesterday Juanchi went into a cavern from which he barely managed to get out. He himself said that it was one of the biggest tubes he had ever gone into. This bomb was even bigger than that one. He had to straighten it out, but the trip must have been worth it.
“Juan hadn’t been to Puerto for a few years and Puerto hadn’t been this solid for a couple of years. So it all came together,” said local filmmaker Jaciel Santiago. “He’s a tremendous surfer and I knew I had to keep going and keep an eye on him with my camera.”
“I wonder how an Argentinean with no waves in his country can bring down those bombs,” Jaciel added.
The correct line of Fran Ferreras
With several seasons in Puerto Arriba, the local from Santa Clara del Mar is making his way through the tough days in Zicatela and not only that, but when the good one comes, he nails the right line that gives him an exit.
"I've been working with Fran for several years, Zicatela is difficult, plus there's the crowd, but when Frank gets the waves, it's sure to be a great tube, plus he always tubes, no matter the size," Jaciel said about the Argentine.
