Two talents make up the Nicaraguan team at the Pan American Games in Panama

Candelaria Resano and Oscar Guzman put Nicaragua back in the top regional surfing competition

Two young talents will be part of the Nicaraguan surfing team at the Pan American Surfing Games that will take place between August 7 and 13 in Playa Venao, Panama, the country's federation reported.

The current leader of the ALAS Pro Tour ranking, top 10 in the junior ISA world and top 20 in the open, Candelaria Resano, will travel with Óscar Guzman to seek Pan American glory.

The team leader will be the vice president of the federation, Gianni Landolfi.

Nicaragua did not participate in the last Pan American surfing competition that took place in Peru in 2018.

The country also failed to qualify any athlete for Lima 2019 and will seek to debut in Santiago 2023 in the process that has already begun with the ALAS Pro Tour 2022 and the upcoming Pan American Games.
