US$200 million real estate project puts Slater's pool as the main driving force

According to experts, it is now more profitable to attract buyers with wave pools than golf courses.

A new plan to build a new wave pool by Kelly Slater has been reported in major American media outlets in recent days.

Located in the middle of California's Coachella Valley, Montaña Coral is a $200 million development that will feature Slater's wave pool, which is larger than the one in Lemoore, as its main attraction.

The explanation given to the Los Angeles Times by the executives behind the project is that golf courses in that area are increasingly empty and the attraction has now become extreme sports.

With the possibility of building artificial waves, they intend for the housing project to have the aforementioned pool as its main driving force.

A 150-room hotel and a project for 600 homes, each costing between $XNUMX million and $XNUMX million, were planned.

If things go as planned by the developers, approval would be granted by 2021 and they would be operational in 2022.

Several ventures including Slater's pool were previously announced, with the WSL talking about one in Japan, two in Paris and one in West Palm Beach, Florida which they decided to pull out of because they said there was an "extremely high water table."
