United will no longer charge for boards on flights to and from California
Since surfing was named the sport of that state, they took that measure. They will also donate to the NGO Sustainable surf
United Airlines announced it will no longer charge $200 per board for flights departing from or going to a California airport.
A tweet posted yesterday noted: “As California’s global airline, we knew what we had to do when surfing was named the state’s official sport: Eliminate surfboard surcharges on all flights to and from California.”
Until not long ago, or actually for all other flights, United was one of the least friendly airlines, charging $200 for international flights.
The airline also announced that it will begin to support Sustainable Surf, an NGO that protects the environment through education.
