Uruguay confirmed its team for the Pan American Games

They are traveling with 12 athletes looking to improve on last year's 13th place finish by nation.

The Uruguayan Surfing Union confirmed the team that will be competing in the Pan American Surfing Games taking place between April 24 and May 3, PASA informed DUKE.

The Uruguayans are traveling with a semi-complete team, with 12 of the 22 athletes who make up a full team.

And with several outstanding surfers such as the current ALAS leader, Martín Ottado, his former champion Julián Schweizer, the world's top 15 longboarder Inés Beisso and the South American medalist Roberto Camblor, among other competitors.

Uruguay finished 13th in the previous Pan American Games held in Guatemala.

In that event he won his first individual gold medal in history at the Pan American Games, thanks to Nacho Pignataro, who will not be able to defend his title this year due to injury.
