Special coverage of surfing in Lima 2019 is presented by Quiksilver Peru and Tubos Surf School

Argentines Leandro Usuna and Ornella Pellizzari, Uruguayan Julián Schweizer and Peruvian María Fernanda Reyes joined the athletes who qualified through the main draw and who already guaranteed medals in this Lima 2019 surfing event.

Usuna defeated his compatriot Santiago Muñiz in the final of the repechage, Pellizzari defeated the Mexican Shelby Detmers, Schweizer defeated the Argentine Surfiel Gil and María Fernanda Reyes defeated the Argentine María Teresa Gil.

This puts the four of them in the play-off final where they will face the losers of the following series:
Bryan Perez vs Lucca Messinas
Dominic Barona vs Daniella Rosas
Piccolo Clemente vs Cole Robbins
Chloe Calmon vs Mathea Olin

Whoever loses that match (in the so-called final of the repechage) wins bronze, and whoever wins goes to the grand final and accompanies whoever wins.

On the beach, today's repechage series were among the most exciting for the fans, whoever won was guaranteed a medal and whoever lost was left out.

More than one father was seen excited or passionately shouting, there were hugs, there was a lot of emotion.
