Venezuela will compete in the 20 categories in the Pan American Surfing Games that will take place between August 7 and 13 in Playa Venao, Panama.

The Venezuelan team mixes young talent with experienced talent. Among the women, for example, Rosanny Álvarez, who has participated in several Pan American Games, shares her team with the young Valeria Ojeda and Luna Marcano, to cite an example.

The same thing happens at the male level: Franwill Vento is alongside young Keoni Lasa, to cite another example.

The rest of the team includes former race medalist Edimar Luque and the experienced Armando Colucci who will compete in longboard, SUP Surf and SUP Race.

Venezuela finished ninth in the previous Pan American Surfing Championships that took place in 2018 in Punta Roca. On that occasion, they won the gold medal in the open with Francisco Bellorin.

In Lima 2019, Venezuela participated with four athletes: Francisco Bellorin himself, Rosanny Álvarez, Armando Colucci and Mariana Bermúdez. The country did not win any medals in that event.
