Vitor Ferreira and El Gringo: “I will remember this for the rest of my life”

The Brazilian went through a very dangerous situation in free surfing yesterday morning in El Gringo; this is what happened, the report, his story and the video

Vitor Ferreira went through an extreme situation yesterday morning, while training for the first day of competition of the Arica Pro Tour, he reported on social media and several witnesses told DUKE.

Apparently, Ferreira found a fun intermediary into which he stuck a tube when the biggest series of the morning came on, the one that the locals call “the bird killer.”

Everyone at the bottom paddled hard and managed to advance in the series, but the same did not happen with Ferreira, who took at least four waves to the head and ended up in the worst possible spot in El Gringo, which is right in front of the Turtle Rock, where the waves throw the surfer straight into crashing against the aforementioned rock.

Ferreira took off his leash and decided to paddle to the jet ski, which was a safe distance behind the surf.

He finally found the motorcycle and managed to save his life.

“I never imagined I would be going through this situation here in El Gringo. The risk here is huge all the time. Thank God I was prepared to go through all of this and I managed to get out of the situation unscathed. God I was prepared to go through this and I managed to get out of it unscathed,” he wrote on his Instagram.

He added: “I thank all my friends who were present, attentive to what was happening to me, all those who worried about me and especially the jet ski pilot who came to rescue me.

"I will remember this situation for the rest of my life," he said.

An hour later, Ferreira was moving through his series with strong performances in his tournament debut.
