WSL CEO among Forbes' 'most powerful women in sport'
Sophie Goldschmidt is ranked 15th in the list of the 25 most powerful female executives and athletes in the world
World Surf League CEO Sophie Goldschmidt of England was named one of the most powerful women in international sport by Forbes magazine in the first edition of the list.
According to the introductory article, the list is compiled based on money, “personal earnings or company income from sport,” media presence, influence and social impact in sport.

Of the 25 chosen, which are led by FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samba Diouf of Senegal, Goldschmidt is ranked 15th.
The list includes female executives and athletes aged 24 to 63 from 19 countries on all continents. They include Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark, Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaia from Canada, Special Olympics CEO Mary Davis from Ireland and Nike China manager Angela Dong (who led the brand to $4.237 billion in revenue last year).
