WSL confirmed four QSs to be held in Australia
Three 1.000s, the first with a nearly full entry list, and a 3000 will take place between February and March off the coast of New South Wales
The QS tour will restart between February 16 and 19 after almost a year without tournaments in that division, the WSL reported on its website.
All four will be in New South Wales, which, due to interstate travel restrictions in Australia, allows for repeat surfers and a more or less consistent regional ranking to be built.
The first, the Great Lakes Pro to be held at Boomerang Beach, already shows a record number of entrants, with the quotas almost full and athletes mainly from Australasia.
The next stop, between February 21 and 23 at Birubi Beach, will be the Port Stephens Pro, and as of yet there is no entry list.
Then, from 26 to 28 February, the Mad Mex Maroubra Pro will be held at Maroubra Beach.
And finally, the first QS 2 of the year will be held at Avoca Beach from 7 to 3000 March, with the WSL reporting that Stephanie Gilmore, Ryan Callinan, Macy Callaghan, Isabella Nichols and Sally Fitzgibbons will be competing.
