WSL postpones two events due to coronavirus
The Krui Pro in Indonesia and the Central Japan Open in Japan have been postponed due to the global crisis. There are warnings that there could be more tournaments cancelled due to the disease
Two QS events have been “tentatively cancelled” due to the coronavirus crisis worldwide but especially in Asia, Stab magazine reported today based on an email sent to competitors and confirmed by DUKE with a source.
The Krui Pro, scheduled for April 13-19, and the Central Japan Open, scheduled for May 25-31, are tentative and presumably confirmed.
Another relevant piece of information shared in the email was that athletes already registered for events in the coronavirus hot zone will not be penalized for deciding not to attend the events.
The email, written by Commissioner Pat O'Connell, also explains that the events included in the following month are guaranteed but that the rest will be subject to the caution that corresponds to the situation.
The commissioner also attached entry and exit information for each of the countries that will need to be traveled to in the following months.
For example, if any of the CT competitors left China after February 1, they will not be able to enter Australia for the opening event of the Premier Division season.
