Weekly Editorial: The Low Level of Surfing Journalism Around the World
Or I'm completely crazy (may be an option)
Several very interesting developments were shared at the ISA Annual General Meeting:
-It was requested that there be 36 shortboarders per gender
-That longboarders (if approved) are 16
-That the ISA is not against holding events in swimming pools
-That the ISA and El Salvador signed a three-year contract that implies that the 2025 to 2027 longboard world championships, either the junior or the WSG, will be there.
-The Games will be either in HB or in Lowers, there is no other option.
And only one site published this news: DUKE.
The least of my intentions is to praise the website I run, but rather the opposite: I can't believe the level is so low!
O: I can't believe I'm so confused and the news I consider relevant isn't!
Unfortunately, I would love to be a baby, to sin out of innocence as I did before, to be naive and to make mistakes all the time, being a victim of my youth; I dare say that this is relevant news and that it is worrying that no one has published anything about it.
No one.
And I really think it's sad that colleagues from Brazil, the United States, and Australia have not published any of these key points that will mark the path of surfing in the coming years.
I always say that if I had been born in California, if I wrote only in English and had the industry contacts up there, I would be a millionaire.
But I had to be from here. I love being from here. But when these things happen, I really regret it…
