The Surf City El Salvador Longboard Classic, which will take place between September 19 and 25 in El Sunzal, will be the third and final stage of the regular season of the first division A of the WSL world longboard.

This will be key to determining the eight surfers who will decide the world title this year, which is launching a new format.

As announced by the WSL in October last year, as with shortboarding, there will be single-day longboard finals to determine the world champion in the category.

Those in the top 8 after El Salvador will qualify. From there, the surfer in eighth place could be world champion in the finals that will be held in Malibu between October 3 and 13.

As happened with Steph Gilmore's eighth title in 2022 or Caroline Marks' first yesterday, who jumped positions to victory regardless of their final ranking.

With just over a week to go until the start of the third leg of the tour, after the Huntington Beach and Bells stages, there is only one longboarder guaranteed to make it to Malibu: Soleil Errico.

There are 17 places left to be determined and the top 15 of the ranking is as follows:
