After passing through Hawaii, Abu Dhabi, and Portugal, the world's best arrived in El Salvador in high spirits, happy to find themselves on the perfect right-handers of Punta Roca, which have been churning out great waves every day.

They also found, they say, a changed country, increasingly safer and more developed.

And we're always surprised by the level of government involvement in the championship and in the athletes' lives during their visit.
