What the locals of Punta Mango think about the impact of this championship and Surf City on the area
With Iris, Karina and Anaís
Special coverage presented by Surf City - El Salvador Travel
Iris, Karina and Anaís are happy about the changes that Surf City has brought to the area.
Representing the local workers' association, Iris says that the place used to be "lonely" and that the dirt road often became impassable, which made them remain isolated and have problems accessing basic necessities such as going to a hospital.
Now they are happy about the roads but also about the job opportunities that this brings: More tourists and championships like this ALAS.
Both things provide work for the community, says Iris.
