In 15 years, once Italo Ferreira's career is over, he says he will probably be a bodybuilder. “I think I will be one of those old musclemen addicted to lifting heavy weights,” he said in an interview with Stab.

“But I will continue surfing,” he added, adding: “I will probably build a wave pool in the Northeast of Brazil and I want to give motivational speeches to children.”

In the interview, in which they touched on several topics, the Brazilian said that the Olympic medal was more important than the world tour because it was the first in history: “Many have won the world title over the years. At the Olympic Games I had the chance to be the first,” he said.

He referred to last year’s WSL finals, saying that many people told him that he won that day: “Someone else won (Filipe). He crushed it all year, no doubt. But that day not so much. But that’s life… I’m not satisfied, of course not.”
