ALAS updated the ranking: Brownell and JJ López are the new leaders
The runner-up position in the Puerto Rican stage catapulted them to the Costa Rican stage and the Venezuelan to the top; they are going for the slot that the tour grants for Santiago 2023

The pole position for the slot that the ALAS Pro Tour 2022 will have for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games is currently held by Costa Rican Rubiana Brownell and Venezuelan JJ López, ALAS reported on its website.
After the Puerto Rico stage last weekend, in which both finished second, they took the lead in the continental ranking.
López had 500 points from the Costa Rica stage and with the 4730 he earned in Puerto Rico he now has 5230.
The top 5 now looks like this:

2: Oscar Urbina (CRC): 4545
3: Bryan Perez (SAL): 4355
4: Martin Ottado (URU): 4305
5: Darshan Antequera (CRC): 3935
Rubiana Brownell did not compete in the Peru stage but placed second in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico last week. The top 5 women, according to ALAS, were as follows:

To compile the final ranking, the best results of the surfers in 70% of the stages completed will be added together.
