Yago Dora won the first ever WSL Airborne
Facing a minefield of the best aerialists in the world, the great champion was the fluent Brazilian member of the CT
The Albee Layers, Chippa Wilsons and Matt Meolas succumbed to the strength of a talented Brazilian and his power in a beach break with small waves. Yago Dora and his impeccable fluidity allowed him to generate speed on any side and fly higher and with great technique than the rest.
In response to the question that many are asking about whether the best aerialists in the world are in the CT
Today's result was not definitive, but it did provide some information. In an inconsistent sea, in a competition with time and certain rules, the winner was an elite competitor.
In fact, splitting things up, the three competing finalists on the tour easily beat three who are better known as aerialists: Dora first, Colapinto second, Freestone third, leaving Kalani David fourth, Matt Meola fifth and Eithan Osborne sixth.
The final scores were as follows:

For an aerials event, the inconsistent sea and no guarantee of whether there would be a ramp or not left the Waco, Texas, pool event as the big winner.
In any case, during the four hours that the event lasted, there was a breath of fresh air, a feeling that something different was happening and it was, in the end, a very entertaining championship.
Ad that there will be a tour like this next year, aims precisely to bring a bit of that different air to a tour that for many needs an injection of this type.

A Mexican at the event
Coming off a foot injury and returning to the water after 28 days without surfing live for the event, Oaxaca local Sebastian Williams finished last in the championship, failing to complete an aerial. Still, the 18-year-old left a good impression, being interviewed on the beach and then in the broadcast booth where he talked about his life, what he's been up to and what he's going to do. Asked before entering the water about his strategy, he said, "I've got a couple of tricks up my sleeve, so watch me."
In the end she didn't complete any of those nice moves, but Williams made a good impression at the event.
