Yago Dora one series away from the world title
With Jordy's defeat, his number 1 pick for the finals was confirmed; if Erik Logan hadn't invented this format, the Brazilian would have already won his first title.
Brazilian Yago Dora is one round away from his first world title after Jordy Smith lost in the round of 16 in Tahiti, making it mathematically impossible to catch the Brazilian.
Smith couldn't handle Kauli Vaast for long and left the event.
This made Yago Dora unreachable for the finals, and without the finals, a format introduced a few years ago by Erik Logan, former CEO of the WSL, he would already be the world champion.
The remaining members of the finals are being defined.
Italo has just secured himself.
