Yesterday was Brazil's worst result at the Pipe CT in the last 14 years
It was the first time since 2016 that they did not make it to the quarter-finals and on that occasion the result of the rest was better; only in 2010 they did worse.
Special coverage presented by Capi Bar
The sun shone and there was calm in the Brazilian storm at this year's CT de Pipe, which regretted its worst historical result since 2010, a stage in which only two surfers advanced to round 3 of the prestigious event.
In the rest of the Brazilian participations in the classic tournament of the queen of the waves, in the mentioned period, Brazil managed to get at least one surfer to the quarterfinals, with the exception of the 2016 and 2012 editions.
In any case, in those years the green and yellow managed to get its surfers to go further than in the stage that took place yesterday on its second day.
In 2016 the result was better for the Brazilians than in 2024 because in addition to Toledo's ninth (which ties with Dora's ninth this year), there were six Brazilians who finished in 13th: Miguel Pupo, Gabriel Medina, Italo Ferreira, Adriano de Souza, Wiggolly Dantas and Alex Ribeiro.
In 2012, Brazil achieved two ninth places, from Gabriel Medina and Miguel Pupo, and a 13th place from Adriano de Souza.
In yesterday's results, Gabriel Medina, Italo Ferreira, Samuel Pupo, Miguel Pupo and Deivid Silva (five Brazilians), finished in 17th.
