A praise to the CT competitors who competed in the Pipe Masters

Being able to save it for the first stop of the dream tour, there they went and risked their necks.

Molly Picklum, Carissa Moore, Gabriela Bryan, Bettylou Sakura Johnson, John John Florence and Seth Moniz, among others, will begin their season at Pipe in a few days and could save their necks for the CT.

But they didn't and they won what was a good Pipe Masters, it had a lot of bad waves and inconsistent moments but on a female level I think it was the one in which the women showed one of the best performances in history.

There were several injuries at the event, Eimeo and Bettylou came out of the water injured and were taken to hospital.

For them, the commitment to the queen of the waves and the prestige of the event were paramount. For me, this is a fundamental characteristic that elite surfing must have: not surfing Pipe to survive, but surfing Pipe because it is the best challenge a surfer can face.

Surfing Pipe because it is legendary to do so, surfing Pipe because it honors a tradition, surfing Pipe because it is what the best in the world must do to be the best in the world.

It's true that it's not the same event as when the tour ended with him and it's true that I feel that that was better.

But I think it's a good example that the CT competitors set in demonstrating that they are the best in the world because they know how to surf those waves and feel comfortable on them and, in the case of John John, winning.

In the case of Molly and Carissa, reaching the final.

It would be great to see more CT surfers there, I would especially love to see Filipe asking for an invite to compete on the wave.
