Agostina and Ornela Pellizzari have been organizing surfing trips for quite some time now and this venture has proven to be increasingly successful as the years go by.

Together they are dynamite, or, as they say: They are “a dynamic duo, different poles that attract and complement each other. The result is explosive, it is very funny to work together.”

They have years of experience traveling and competing internationally; they were both teenagers when they started doing the ALAS tour in the early 2000s and they never stopped from then on.

This combination of an inseparable team, deep knowledge combined with feminine warmth and a huge desire to surf is what sets Orne and Agos' trips apart from the rest.

Below, they take the time to recount all these adventures and what they are about, in great detail.

How about having a Pan American medalist as a guide, coach and right-hand woman on a trip to the wave paradise that is Peru?
Part of the trip to northern Peru in September, and surfers from all over the world can join in.

How did this sisters' venture to organize surfing trips come about?
Ornela: We have a long competitive track record and experience in Latin America and the world in terms of surfing trips. We know the places that combine all the qualities to bring a group together, have a good time and achieve the main objective, which is to evolve quickly.

We work together as lifeguards at home, we trust in our abilities and we know that few can keep up with us. We are a dynamic duo, different poles that attract and complement each other. The result is explosive, a lot of fun working together.

Agostina: It comes from the love we have for the sport and the way we share it. We surf, we compete, we travel a lot for a long time and when we teach it, with all this experience, we know that in quality waves, with a long course, that allow us to put into practice what we want to change or improve, things are easier.

"We know that in quality waves, with a long course, that allow us to put into practice what we want to change or improve, things are easier"

In Argentina, the climate is quite hostile and the lack of consistency in quality waves makes learning times longer, and putting them into practice shorter or almost survival in the water…

Traveling always helps us improve, and there are destinations where the magic of perfect waves helps us to make a click in surfing to take that step that was so difficult. Or to learn from scratch, and join this tribe of surfers from around the world.

Why Lima on one trip and why another to the north? What differences do you identify between the two?
Ornela: Lima has it all. It is a capital city but with waves and only 40 minutes away you have quiet beaches without people in low season. The north is a world apart, with greater disconnection and inhospitable landscapes. Both are rich in Inca culture, Peruvian cuisine and waves to choose from.

North or south, both have our hearts, we love Peru, we want to share that with our students. People think that it is not a tourist destination and they are wrong, we have enjoyed it as such for years.

Augustine: Peru is amazing no matter where you look at it! It is one of those destinations where you never have enough time. There will always be things left to see, places to visit, dishes to try and waves to surf.

It is one of our favorite places in the world. Lima is a great city. Full of colors, flavors and culture, it is the cradle of the oldest civilization in America.

The Green Coast of Lima has a large expanse of incredible waves, for all levels. The trip to Lima is a combination of surfing, culture and gastronomy. Not only do we surf every day, and do coaching and video analysis, but we also visit emblematic cultural places in the city, from museums, cathedrals and historical sites to ruins and monuments.

The trip north is calmer and full of perfect lefts.
The trip to Lima combines waves with culture and a more city-oriented lifestyle.

We enjoyed the exquisite cuisine in different places and stayed in Barranco, which is a bohemian neighborhood in Lima, quiet, safe, with bars and places to walk around during the day and night. Very close to the waves, but in the big city.

The trip to the north was the most hippie, so to speak. We walked on the land, with little clothing because it was always hot, it was a more relaxed and laid-back place. We stuffed ourselves to another level!

Northern Peru is a paradise for left-handers. We surf, eat and sleep deliciously every day. We fall exhausted and even though we have to get up really early to surf in the best conditions, it is done with such pleasure!

The Pacific has another immensity, and the connection with nature is much greater.

Turtles among the waves, whale season, sunrises and sunsets like from another planet. Our trips are to coastal towns in search of different spots to ride waves and we enjoy the gastronomy of each place, where dishes with fresh local fish and seafood stand out, as well as tropical fruits of all colors and little civilization.

Trips to Lima are in the months of June, July and August, and to the north in September and October, always depending on the competitions and international events in which we participate each year.

It is true that there are many trips to Peru but this one is different, why?
Ornela: Because we know Peru very well. We have been there many times. We are fans of this country, its people, its waves and everything that makes it up. We know a lot of people there. We have the most local surfers on each beach on our side, incredible human beings who enjoy being our hosts and support us at all times. Nothing can go wrong in Peru.

Agostina: We are two sisters who have been surfing since we were little. Years searching for waves and a lot of surfing in our soul. Competitors, representatives of our country in numerous international competitions, lifeguards and a lifetime on the beach.
Fans of this sport.

As surf teachers, we always try to transmit and promote not only the rules and human values of this incredible sport, but also independence in the water.

We enhance the good qualities of our students and reinforce their weak points so that they can achieve their goals in surfing. Meticulous in the details that make a big difference, we manage to find and transmit to them what is necessary, so that they “gain time” in learning or evolution.

During the trips, all sessions are video-analyzed to correct and improve.
And, adventures are never lacking... With Ornela at the wheel.

Orne turns 37 this year, I turned 39. In Argentina and in many Latin American countries, our generations did not have many surfers since they were young. The growth that surfing had as a sport and the discovery that there is no limitation of age to start, made a lot of people get excited and regret not having known surfing before or would have loved to surf as a child or wish they had more time to dedicate to it, or maybe they do not live near the sea and cannot keep up the good work.

We focus on making them gain time, we get into the water with them, we accompany them on every dive, and we pass on to them more than 25 years of experience.

Ten days of two daily sessions with coaching, in quality waves, that allow you to put into practice what you want to change or achieve, seeing errors on screen and showing you how to correct them, make trips a leap in evolution for your surfing.

In the months leading up to the trip, we are all connected. We always recommend trying to be in good physical condition to perform well in the water, and we offer you specific exercise routines to train. We guide you with your equipment and everything you need before we meet in Peru.

The trips are not rigid or tied to a fixed schedule of activities, they flow according to the needs of each group and the wave prediction.

Living with us is a lot of fun! We make an excellent team and we offer you an experience that you will definitely want to repeat!

Surfing sessions are combined with walks.
Through fairs and markets that, like everything in Peru, are very colorful.

There are two sisters who organize the trip and interact with the people. What would you say is each one's role? Which Pellizzari sister is the organized and responsible one, and which one is different?
Ornella: Agos is obviously the boss. I would never try to take that hierarchy away from her. She always has the best arguments. But I am her rebellious right hand, the one who also thinks, speaks and retorts at all times. We make decisions together and respect each other's points of view.

Agostina: Well, it's more or less the Big Brother house... Those who know us or have already traveled with us must be laughing at that question. As for roles, we both pay close attention to making sure everything is in order and working well.

Especially when it comes to choosing the waves and making every experience in the water a good one. Orne is more daring and always challenges them a little bit more. I am the voice in their conscience… My tone of voice is recorded in their subconscious in such a way that without needing to repeat or say it, they can hear me in their heads just the same (laughs) And it works!

We both do our part in the water and out. Guiding them with a pre-reading of the sea, mobility and warm-up, positioning in the water, taking the waves and then during the video analysis and all the technical part. We are both the first to be ready to go in the water! Tremendous surfing skills! And although we are very different, even choosing the same life and the same things, each one has her own rhythm.

When it comes to order and logistics, I am more organized and structured. I always have plans A, B, C, D… Z up my sleeve. But if I am not regulated, I will not stop! And that is where Orne is the perfect partner to create the balance we need.

You have been going to Peru for a long time. What unforgettable moment has each of you remembered?
Ornela: The ALAS! Latin tournaments, trips through Central and South America with a great group of surfers, photographers, media and organizers. A very close-knit community like few others in the world of surfing. Pure fun and epic surfing.

Agostina: I couldn't name just one moment. Thinking about Peru takes me back to a lot of good memories, sensations, flavours and lots of laughs. Since we were little girls, it gave us lots of friends, ALAS competitions, trips and parties... Peru is pleasure, it is happiness, it is lots of surfing and it is thinking about returning before you have left... I hope that many new surfers set as their goal to get to know and ride the waves of this wonderful country, where the culture of sport is breathed in every corner, the power of its waves teaches you and fascinates you completely.

What would you say you will definitely be able to experience on each of these two upcoming trips?
Ornela: Learning in fast motion. A lot of knowledge and experience summed up in 10 days of pure nutrition. We pour our wisdom from more than 25 years of surfing into our students. We save them time and bad times. We give 100% of ourselves as our elders taught us. If you do something, do it well! Cut the crap. We take our job very seriously, we are demanding with our performance. We know the effort each student puts into traveling with us, we want them to have a great time and for the result to be excellent.

Agostina: We aim for these to be sporting trips to improve and evolve your surfing. We are sure that there is a before and after each Latin Mafia Surf Trip, where you can feel more secure in the water, where you are encouraged to challenge your limits, where you manage to understand and feel the corrections we make to improve or achieve what you set out to do, but above all, where you can have fun with a group of people who otherwise might never have met, and who despite their different professions, jobs and customs, are united by the same passion for the waves.

"The trips are designed so that you can relax and enjoy yourself and only worry about what the waves will be like. We take care of everything else. Each trip creates a group of surfers who will make friends for life."

What can't be missing in the bag of a traveler to Peru with the Pellizzari?
Ornella: Hat, sunscreen, repellent, sarong, paraffin, board, suit.

Augustine: I think just a passport and good vibes! Maybe, if I had to make the list, there would be a few more things, but Orne, more relaxed and rightly, would tell you that I only need what I have (laughs), everything else could be resolved there.

Agostina and Ornela, the two responsible for the trip.
