Airline claimed the lives of all of Kanoa Igarashi's boards
The Japanese went to Russia to watch the World Cup final and this was the result
After visiting the FIFA World Cup final in Russia, Kanoa Igarashi, currently number 17 in the World Surf League CT rankings, received his board bag with all his boards destroyed.
Kanoa explained in the comments on her Instagram post: "I flew from Russia to Lisbon on TAP Airlines, they couldn't get me on that flight, the day after the World Cup the airport was hectic. I was in Lisbon for a few days but the bag didn't arrive before my flight back to LA. So they sent the bag to my address in California. TAP doesn't fly to California so it could have been any airline or freighter operating between Lisbon and LA that destroyed the bag."
Igarashi joins other surfers who have been victims of abuse of airline policies for transporting surfboard bags, including Natxo Gonzalez, John John Florence and Alex Grey.
