Albee Layer close to completing a 720

“The good news is that he probably hates me enough to get it today if I get another chance, although the odds are pretty low. Shit,” the Hawaiian wrote.

Hawaiian Albee Layer came very close to placing his name among the few surfers who have managed to turn their board 720 degrees, frontside and rotating outwards, he himself posted on his Instagram.

Layer had rotated 720 when he did the Albee Oop, Noah Beschen did his rotation as well, but backside in Hawaii and Kelly Slater had done it in Portugal in 2014.

This time Layer flew higher and rotated dynamically.

“After thinking about this section instead of sleeping most of the night before, I decided to get there half a second early and not stomp hard enough on landing. The good news is that I probably hate myself enough to get it today if I get another chance, although the odds are pretty low. Shit,” the Hawaiian wrote yesterday on Instagram.
