Costa Rican Anthony Fillingim just placed third in the QS 1000 WRV Outer Banks Pro, which took place on fun waves breaking at Jeannette's Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina, United States.
After having stood out throughout the event doing aerials and powerful attacks that earned him a place in first place in almost all the series he competed in, he found himself in the semis against local Noah Schweizer who beat him by 15,44 (7,77+7.67) to 12,87 (6,7+6,17). The American ended up winning the event in the following series against Brazilian Renan Peres Pulga.
With this result, the Costa Rican added 560 points that will put him in the top 200 of the QS ranking.
This is the third best result of the Costa Rican's career in the QS, the second best of the year (after the ninth in the Krui Pro), and the second podium (he placed third in Mar del Plata in 2017).
