Arena Rodriguez won in Brazil

She achieved her second QS of her career and of the season; Jarisz was vice-champion and Giunta third.


Peru's Arena Rodriguez won her second QS of her career and of the year today in Maresias, Brazil, at the QS 1000 held there this weekend.

She defeated Argentine Vera Jarisz in the final and, thanks to this result, jumped to sixth place in the South American regional ranking.

The final was timid in terms of scores and was decided by a sum of 7,77 for the Peruvian over 6.3 for the Argentine.

“I am very happy to win an event in Brazil. It is my first final in the country and I managed to win. I am happy to know that it was here in Maresias. The people and the waves are very good and I am happy to make it to the final and win, thank you all,” Arena said after her final, according to the press release of the championship.

Third place in the event went to Peruvian Melanie Giunta, who was unable to beat Jarisz in the semis.

The result leaves the regional women's top 10 as follows:
