Aritz Aranburu was runner-up in Pantín
It was a Portuguese party in Galicia with the victory of Vasco Ribeiro and Teresa Bonvalot; Nadia Erostarbe made it to the podium placing third; Ariane and Melania were fourth

The return of international competitive surfing in Europe saw a very in-form Aritz Aranburu claim a podium finish, placing second in the classic championship and losing only in the final to Portugal's Vasco Ribeiro.
Aranburu went through five series and in the final stages he beat Frenchman Maxime Huscenot in the semi-finals and German Dylan Groen in the quarter-finals.
In the grand final he found no waves and lost to the Portuguese by 13,54 to 6,26.
On the women's side, the best local performance was by another Zarautz native, Nadia Erostarbe, who came third; in the semis she was unable to beat Bonvalot by 14,33 to 9,5.
With a good performance, the Canarian Melania Suárez and the Basque Ariane Ochoa also made it to the quarterfinals.
It was a final day with very good waves overhead in the heats; Ribeiro surprised with incredible speed that ended with powerful and fluid movements.
Meanwhile, Bonvalot's backside attack was what made the difference in winning the checkers game.
It was the first international surfing event held in Europe.
Next week, also in Galicia, the Spanish national championship will begin.
