Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy started her participation in the Corona Open J-Bay on the right foot, winning her debut series and moving directly to the quarterfinals.
With her characteristic powerful frontside attack and good strategy and wave selection, the Matapalo local added 10,33 to beat Courtney Conlogue (9,03) and Stephanie Gilmore (9,03).
Now she awaits her opponent depending on how the last two series of the day between Lakey Peterson and Tyler Wright and Isabella Nichols and Gabriela Bryan end.
Moving on to another series would be key for Hennessy to stay in the top five.
As announced by the WSL today, there are three spots left because Johanne Defay is already guaranteed and Carissa Moore had already announced in Rio that she was.
