Carissa Moore shined in Honolua

She beat Malia Manuel in the final with a perfect 10

Hawaiian Carissa Moore was the best surfer during the Maui Pro, the last stage of the women's world circuit and confirmed this by winning today with a near-perfect score of 18,67 out of 20 possible points.

In the grand final she beat another local, Malia Manuel, who badly needed a result to stay in the elite and she did it.

In the semis, Steph Gilmore, already satisfied with her seventh title, lost narrowly to Manuel and Courtney Conlogue also narrowly lost to Moore.

Thus, in two days of perfect waves, the best tournament of the year for women was held.

This is how the final ranking was:

Before Honolua, Malia Manuel was in a very delicate situation and needed not only to advance in the tournament but also to expect her rivals to lose. She made it to the grand final and secured herself another year in the elite.
Stephanie Gilmore lifted her seventh WSL World Championship trophy and finished the tournament in third place.
Casual in the tubes and powerful on the attack, Carissa Moore is a beast of a surfer.
Hawaiians celebrated the victory of a daughter of their land.
