Carissa Moore won at the Surf Ranch

She maintained the form she showed from day 1. Steph Gilmore was vice and made a difference at the top of the ranking

Hawaiian Carissa Moore won the inaugural Surf Ranch Pro, the first event in CT history on an artificial wave. Stephanie Gilmore placed second and extended her lead over Lakey Peterson who also placed third along with 16-year-old Caroline Marks, who is now fifth in the world.

Moore didn't seem to feel any pressure to waste the wave and instead took risks and cashed in. He attacked the lip, carved and barreled deep and impeccably.

Final result
1st Carissa Moore 17,80 points
2nd Stephanie Gilmore 16,70
3rd Lakey Peterson 16,57
3rd Caroline Marks 14,77

Top 5 of the ranking after the eighth stage
1st Stephanie Gilmore 61175 points
2rd Lakey Peterson 54260
3rd Tatiana Weston Webb 41415
4th Carissa Moore 41235
5rd Caroline Marks 37000

With these totals and two stages remaining (France and Hawaii), it is practically impossible for the 2018 champion not to be Gilmore or Peterson. That means that Weston Webb, Moore, Marks and the rest have no chance of at least reaching the Australian's score. Gilmore is close to Layne Beachley's record of seven world titles.
