Alan Cleland made the final in California and climbed to third place in the ranking

The Mexican is now in the qualifying zone for the WSL Junior World Championships in Taiwan and has one stage left

Mexican Alan Cleland reached another final in the world pro youth circuit and by placing fourth he climbed two places in the North American ranking to now be third and partially qualified for the WSL world championship.

Cleland had an impeccable performance in the tournament that took place on fun waves at 56 street in Newport Beach, California, passing all his heats in first place until in the final he could not repeat and was beaten by Jett Schilling, Kade Matson and Nick Marshall in that order.

On Saturday's qualifier she performed one of the best aerials of the event, she was paid 7,83 but for Cleland it was "probably the best backside aerial" she had ever done in her life, she told the WSL.

Now there is one stage left of the North American pro-youth circuit, in Barbados between November 7 and 10, which will determine those who qualify for the World Championships taking place in Taiwan between November 26 and January 1.

This is the top 8 of the ranking:
