Natxo González, one of the most respected big wave surfers on the planet, had been inactive for several months due to having suffered “concussions”, and posted a video on social media today about his return.

González had practically disappeared from the pursuit of swells that kept him active all year round, going here and there always looking for the biggest wave in the world, whether at home, in Nazaré, Hawaii, Puerto Escondido, etc., and from one day to the next he disappeared without apparent warning.

He returned excited, he and his filmmaker, Jon Aspuru, and took home the bomb itself on a day in more than a year that the legendary Roka Puta went bankrupt.

Gonzalez says that he was a little open and that Aritz yelled at him to go for a big one. He had no choice, he went down, pinned the edge, took the line and went, went until he had to press the discard button.

When he came out of the water it was pure emotion.

The severity of Natxo González's concussions is unknown, but it is known, of course, that he has been caught in some of the biggest waves on the planet and it is inevitable to receive blows to the head.

González is the only surfer in history to have managed 10-point waves in Nazaré and Punta Galea, thanks to a pair of barrels, one to the left and one to the right.

He has traveled around the world with his friends Kepa and Aritz, discovering untouched waves and surfing in the most remote corners of the planet.

Looks like he's back.
