Costa Rican surfer Brisa Hennessy has switched to Channel Islands boards shaped by Britt Merrick, she and the brand announced on social media.

Hennesy had previously announced that he was leaving his long-time sponsor, Glen Pang T and C, and that he hoped for the best for the future and thanked them for their work together over so many years.

Hennessy had used Merrick in the finals and so these were supposed to be the tables of change and they ultimately were.

“New beginnings with Channel Islands Surfboards! Excited for the opportunity and honored to be a part of the team,” the Costa Rican wrote on IG.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Brisa to the CI family. Let’s go!” wrote CI, adding a video of the Costa Rican trying out the boards in the pool in Waco, Texas.
