Two surfers whose main strengths are clean bottom turns that end in powerful maneuvers with clean, neat lines were the winners of the Corona Open JBay.

It was Ethan Ewing's first win and Tatiana Weston Webb's first at JBay.

The Brazilian was the surfer in the best form along with Carissa Moore, when the semi-finals arrived, they faced each other and the Hawaiian incredibly interfered with Weston Webb, which guaranteed her a place in the grand final.

There she encountered a focused Tyler Wright who put up a good fight 15,67 (8,17+7,5) but it was not enough to beat the goofy footer who did 17,5 (9+8,5).

Among the men, Jack Robinson, who won every final he reached this year, saw that streak snapped by Ewing in an exchange of attack after attack on the right that kept pumping for JBay.

It all came down to Robinson, who had a good start, leaving Ewing in the middle of the series needing an 8,1 and getting a 9,13 after executing four powerful maneuvers in one wave of the series.

From then on Robinson sought a 7,98 that he never achieved.

By reaching the semis, the Australian guaranteed himself a place in the final five and, together with Toledo, moved far away from the top of the rankings.

There are still six places to be decided for the grand finals, three for men and three for women.

With this result, the top 10 men and women were as follows:
